Form Over Function owns an exquisite and unique hire range designed to provide wedding clients with an extensive array of possibilities for their day – a range that covers not only the necessities - such as beautiful dinnerware and glassware - but also supplies the special décor touches that transform the way a space looks, and allow you to put celebrate your own sense of style on the day as well.
And if we don’t have exactly what you are looking for? Form Over Function is constantly sourcing new products for its clients, providing an ever expanding range. And we’ll be happy to discuss the option of custom-designing for you.
Unlike many hire companies, Form Over Function is also happy to organise to transport our hire range to wherever in Australia – or overseas – you have chosen to marry. Our hire range has made it safely to celebrations in places as diverse as Tenterfield, Wagga Wagga, Hayman Island, Auckland, New Zealand, Nowra, Burleigh Heads, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
While the best way to view the many possibilities is to make an appointment to visit one of our two showrooms, we understand not everyone is able to make the trip. We are also happy to help you make your choices with a call to discuss your needs, then turning to e-mail to provide you with quotes and images. event design + styling + management
Form Over Function prides itself on delivering our wedding clients personal, one off event designs that guarantee no wedding needs to look the same as another.
This service allows clients to choose the areas of the day they need help with, and turn to us to take care of it for them. Some clients engage us to take care of everything from start to finish. Others might engage us to take care of the styling, flowers and stationery. Others might seek our assistance with finding a wedding location and setting up the ceremony for them on the day. Every wedding deserves to be unique, and so is our service.
At Form Over Function we have extensive experience, contacts and in-house talents to ensure that we not only meet your expectations, but exceed them every step of the way.
Form Over Function services include setting up marquees, transforming venues, catering, food & wine matching, tailor-made props & special effects, lighting, entertainment (from musical to theatrical), floral design from bouquets to venue, irresistible invitations, cakes that taste as good as they look and arranging all event needs (from marquees to seating, power to mobile kitchens).
Some of the areas we have taken care of our clients in include:-
- finding a buddhist celebrant
- transforming a hotel ballroom into a winter wonderland, complete with an avenue of white birch trees
- bringing together the best of England and Canada to create a celebration that reflected the couple’s origins, beginning with the stationery and ending with the cake
- turning a down at heel surf club into a warm, lavish and inviting Moroccan themed cocktail reception which featured conversation pits created with luxurious floor cushions and woven rugs
- overseeing the delivery, construction & styling of marquees on difficult sites with spectacular outlooks on many, many, many occasions because that was just where they had to be
- locating a venue that allowed for an intimate, chic dinner party style reception upstairs, and a magical, fun children’s party zone downstairs, with ocean views, and making it all happen from start to finish
- organising outdoor heaters at one hour’s notice because the planned warm spring wedding day had dawned with the temperature struggling to hit 14 degrees
- designing, organising & styling a marquee wedding on a private property for a New York Based client who we were only able to meet with for an hour in the lead up to the day, conducting all our dealings via e-mail and her Sydney based Mum. On the day, Sydney was ringed by massive bushfires closing access to the property on and off. We just went the long way. And the verdict? Perfect said the couple.
- Meeting with a Wagga Wagga based bride once – and then taking care of everything from designing hand-stitched stationery, creating a lush border of autumnal leaves and berries for the church entrance and floral collars for their beloved dogs, styling the reception completely, transporting all the dining needs required from Sydney, creating a marquee chapel with live video link alongside the tiny country church to accommodate the overflow of guests, and much more.
